On the afternoon of June 11, 2014, Watson & Band Law Offices hosted the China Law Salon on the topic of “Judicial Principles and Practical Developments in Chinese Unfair Competition Law”. The event took place on the 17th floor of the Wenxin United Press Tower in Shanghai. Watson & Band Senior Partner Jean Yang served as the keynote speaker. Miss Yang has successfully concluded a large number of Chinese and international company trademark actions, copyright actions, trade disputes and contract disputes, and she has been engaged by several companies as IP counsel. Her rich litigation experience and highly developed skills are appreciated by her clients, winning her a strong reputation in the field.

Ms. Yang introduced the judicial practice principles underlying Chinese Anti-Unfair Competition Law, spoke of her experience in anti-unfair competition disputes, and provided detailed and professional legal analyses of recent landmark cases including Baidu v. QihuI (unfair competition), Tencent (Shenzhen) v. Beijing Qihu (unfair competition) and Guangyao Wanglaoji v. Jiaduobao (false advertising) .
