Mr. Xu is a Senior Partner for Watson and Band Law Offices in Shanghai as well as an Arbitrator for the Shanghai Arbitration Committee.
On the strength of his degree from the Shanghai University Mechanical Engineering Department, Mr. Xu was named an officer in the Shanghai branch of the State Intellectual Property Office, where he served from 1980 to 1984. He was licensed as a patent attorney in 1984. The same year, he entered the Shanghai Patent and Trademark Agency as Director of both the Implementation Department and the Legal Department, where he served until 1994. In 1986, Mr. Xu was licensed as an attorney by passing China's first Bar Exam. From 1987 to 1988 he pursued advanced studies in patent law in Japan. Presently Mr. Xu also serves as an arbitrator at the Shanghai Arbitration Committee.
Mr. Xu has handled numerous domestic and overseas patent applications and hundreds of IP litigation cases.
