W&B Hosts Latest China Law Salon on “Criminal Risk in Business Operations”

On July 21st, 2017, W&B hosted the latest China Law Salon, entitled Criminal Risks in Business Operations. The lecture was delivered by W&Bs partner Mr. Lifei Jiang.

Enterprises usually undergo four stages of development -- start-up; sustainable development; growth; and finally stability/decline. At each stage, the enterprise is faced with various criminal risks that sometimes go unnoticed by entrepreneurs and managers. The actual occurrence of one of these risks, however, often plunges an enterprise into a sudden economic decline. For this reason, entrepreneurs and managers should be aware of potential criminal risks at all stages of an enterprises operations, so that they can view the enterprise from a broad perspective and ensure its healthy development.

Mr. Jiang began his lecture by describing criminal risks in business operations and by using typical cases as illustrations. He then suggested countermeasures and solutions to the corresponding risks, for the ultimate purposes of eliminating the crises in the business operations and safeguarding healthy and sustainable enterprise development.

The most distinctive features of the lecture were its integration of practical case examples with legal provisions as well as its focus on universal problems currently facing enterprises. The result was a vivid presentation of various approaches for enforcing an enterprises rights and interests.

Mr. Jiang actively interacted with the attendees, who were impressed by the lively atmosphere at the two-and a- half-hour lecture.
