Mr. Yingcong Xu is the Vice General Manager of Watson & Band IP Agent Ltd. He is a senior patent agent, certified judicial expert in intellectual property matters, and technical broker. Mr. Xu holds a Master's Degree in International Business Law from the University of Hull in England and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Shanghai University.
Prior to joining Watson and Band, Mr. Xu spent over a decade as an in-house IP attorney in Global 500 companies and a Chinese state-run research institute, gaining extensive experience in IP rights management. He served as Senior IP Counsel at Saint-Gobain Shanghai Research and IP Manager at Shanghai National Technology Transfer Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
During his tenure at Watson & Band, Mr. Xu was seconded to prominent U.S. law firms to expand his international IP practice and enhance his ability to support Chinese clients in global IP matters.
Mr. Xu's IP practice covers all aspects of Chinese patent prosecution to litigation, including patent and trademark portfolio management and procurement, patent reexamination and invalidation, copyright registration, IP rights recordation at customs, IP due diligence, IP licensing and transfer, and pre-litigation and litigation enforcement before the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and Chinese courts.
Additionally, Mr. Xu advises clients on trademark and copyright matters, and provides expert legal opinions on various IP-related issues.
