Dr. Xiao is General Manager of Watson & Band IP Agency Ltd and a qualified patent attorney. He is also licensed to practice law in China. 

Dr. Xiao holds a Ph.D. in information optics from the Department of Physics at Wuhan University. His academic prowess is evidenced by his publication record, which includes four first-authored papers in SCI journals and several co-authored publications during his doctoral studies.

Since joining Watson & Band, Dr. Xiao has developed a comprehensive practice encompassing various aspects of patent law:

• Patent Applications: Drafting, translating, proofreading patent documentation and drafting observations to office actions across diverse technical fields.

• Strategic Consulting: Conducting patent searches, portfolio layout, and mining to optimize clients' intellectual property assets.

• Dispute Resolution: Handling patent invalidation and infringement cases, with particular expertise in optics, physics, communications, computer science, electronics, and machinery.

• Legal Representation: Licensed to practice law in China, providing holistic legal advice on intellectual property matters.

Additionally, Dr. Xiao has been engaged by courts as a patent appraisal expert, participating in the technical appraisal of multiple patent infringement cases. One notable case in the field of communications, in which Dr. Xiao's technical team played a crucial role, was recognized by the Supreme People's Court as one of the Top 10 Typical IP Cases of the year Dr. Xiao has been listed in the prestigious IAM Patent 1000 ranking as an outstanding individual in patent prosecution since 2021, a distinction he has earned four times.
