Mr. Lele Xu graduated from Tianjin University in 2006 with a Master's degree in Optical Engineering.
Following his graduation, Mr. Xu joined China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA, formerly SIPO), serving as an examiner in the Opto-electronic Technology Invention Examination Department. He was primarily responsible for patent examination in the field of imaging technology, where he accumulated extensive experience in patent search and substantive examination.
Mr. Xu joined Watson & Band in 2012 and currently serves as the Head of Patent Agency Department III at Shanghai Watson & Band Intellectual Property Agent Ltd. He possesses nearly 20 years of professional experience in the industry.
During his tenure at Watson & Band, Mr. Xu has provided professional services to numerous Fortune 500 companies in the electronic communication sector, as well as state-owned enterprises and sci-tech startups in the domestic Artificial Intelligence (AI) field. He has handled a substantial volume of patent invalidation and litigation cases, offering comprehensive agency services that cover patent analysis, invalidation declarations, Freedom to Operate (FTO) assessments, and infringement litigation. To date, he has prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in China, the United States, Europe, and other jurisdictions. Leveraging his profound background as a former examiner and his professional expertise, he provides clients with objective and precise intellectual property solutions.
In 2024, Mr. Xu further demonstrated his outstanding professional acumen by participating in the "Xuhui District AI Large Model Industry Patent Landscaping Project" and the "Songjiang District Satellite Internet Industry Patent Landscaping Project," where he was responsible for critical patent search and analysis work.
