Mr. Cui is a partner of Watson and Band Law Offices in Shanghai.

Mr. Cui graduated from Shanghai University Law School and completed the International Finance Master's Program at East China Normal University. Mr. Cui started his career as a professional attorney at law at the Shanghai No.2 Legal Consultation Office in April 1982. In May 1983, he became qualified as an intern attorney at law and then attended the 1st Session of Shanghai Lawyers' Congress in May 1984. He became qualified as an attorney at law in May 1985 and received the title of junior attorney at law in April 1992, and then the title of senior attorney at law in June 1999. 

During the 1980s and the 1990s, Mr. Cui published the following essays:

  • 1989-09: How Creditors' Interests can be protected when the Debtor goes out of Business, in the Journal of Collective Industrial Economy;

  • 1995-05: A Discussion on the Amendment and Improvement of the Technical Provisions on Planning and Management of Shanghai Municipality, in Shanghai Legal News;

  • 1996-05: A Systematic and Economic Analysis of the Capitalization of Property Rights, in Financial Research;

  • 1997-06: A Discussion on Legal Liabilities incurred by Uncertain Factors in Contracts, published by China Yan Shi Publishing House;

  • 1998-12: A Discussion on the Various Legal Protections for Product Marks, in Shanghai Legal News.

During his more than 30 years' of practice as a professional attorney at law, Mr. Cui has handled more than a thousand criminal, civil and economic cases, in which he has accumulated a rich litigation experience and professional knowledge to help him provide reliable legal services for various types of clients.

Mr. Cui is specialized in acting as the legal counsel for companies to enforce their IP rights, especially in that he is able to provide legal services for a large water utilities corporation. He was awarded as the Outstanding Attorney at Law by the Shanghai Urban Construction Investment and Development Corporation in March 2008. He submitted expert opinions with respect to the Proposal for Amending the Shanghai Municipal Provisions for the Protection of Consumers' Rights and Interests in March 2008. He participated in the inspection of contract management initiated by the Shanghai Urban Construction Investment and Development Corporation to its affiliated companies and provided expert opinions during the process.
